Day One – Arrival in Rome and Welcome Dinner

Participants arrive independently in Rome and check in at the 4-star hotel. Rooms are available from the afternoon, with luggage storage available for early arrivals.

In the early evening, the group meets the Tour Leader for a welcome aperitif at the hotel, followed by a group dinner at a nearby restaurant featuring traditional Roman cuisine, offering a relaxed introduction to the journey.

Day Two – Transfer to Perugia with Narni and Marmore Falls

After breakfast, the group departs Rome by private coach toward Umbria, reaching the medieval town of Narni (approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes drive). A guided walking tour explores its historic streets and architecture, with insights into its cultural heritage and literary connections (2 hours walking tour)

Lunch is served locally before continuing to the Marmore Falls (approximately 30 minutes drive), where participants enjoy a guided visit through scenic paths surrounding the dramatic man-made waterfall (2 hours guided visit).
The journey continues to Perugia (approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes drive), followed by hotel check-in and a traditional Umbrian dinner at the hotel.

Day Three – Perugia Walking Tour and Eurochocolate

The morning begins with a guided walking tour of Perugia, exploring its medieval center, Piazza IV Novembre, and the Fontana Maggiore, while learning about the city’s artistic and historical development (2 hours walking tour).

Lunch is at leisure, followed by a free afternoon dedicated to Eurochocolate, Perugia’s renowned chocolate festival. Participants explore themed installations, artisan stands, and tasting areas, immersing themselves in the city’s festive atmosphere. The evening is at leisure.

Day Four – Assisi and Perugina Chocolate Factory

The group travels to Assisi (approximately 40 minutes drive), where a guided visit focuses on the Basilica of St. Francis, admired for its frescoes and spiritual significance (2 hours guided visit).

Lunch is served at a local restaurant before returning toward Perugia to visit the Perugina Chocolate Factory. The experience includes a guided introduction to chocolate production, tastings, and participation in the Bacio di Luisa workshop, where participants create their own Baci Perugina under expert guidance (approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes). The evening is free.

Day Five – Food and Wine Experience at Cantine Goretti

After breakfast, the group departs for Cantine Goretti (approximately 30 minutes drive). The day includes a guided winery visit, exploration of vineyards and cellars, and a wine tasting paired with local products.

A hands-on cooking class follows, focused on traditional Umbrian recipes using seasonal ingredients, concluding with a shared meal paired with regional wines (full culinary experience). The afternoon and evening are free to enjoy Perugia and Eurochocolate at leisure.

Day Six – Gubbio and Nocera Umbra

The journey continues to Gubbio (approximately 1 hour drive), where a guided walking tour explores the town’s medieval character, including Palazzo dei Consoli and the Roman Theatre (2 hours walking tour).

Lunch is served at a traditional trattoria before traveling to Nocera Umbra (approximately 1 hour drive). Here, participants enjoy a guided walk through the historic center followed by a visit to a local brewery with tasting (2 hours guided experience).
Return to Perugia in the early evening (approximately 1 hour drive), with dinner at leisure.

Day Seven – Spello, Truffle Hunting, and Spoleto

The day begins in Spello (approximately 40 minutes drive), where a guided walking tour highlights its Roman and medieval heritage, including a visit to the Cappella Baglioni (2 hours walking tour).

The group then reaches a local estate for a truffle hunting experience led by expert truffle hunters and trained dogs, offering insight into this traditional practice (guided truffle hunting experience). In the afternoon, the tour continues to Spoleto (approximately 50 minutes drive), with a guided walk through the historic center, including Ponte delle Torri and the cathedral exterior.

The day ends with the transfer back to the hotel in Perugia, leaving the evening free for individual dining options (approximately 1 hour drive).

Day Eight – Transfer to Rome with Stop in Orvieto and Special Evening

After check-out, the group travels toward Rome, stopping in Orvieto (approximately 1 hour drive). A guided walking tour explores the hilltop town and includes an interior visit to Orvieto Cathedral, admired for its Italian Gothic architecture (2 hours walking tour).

Lunch is at leisure before continuing to Rome (approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes drive). After hotel check-in, the evening features a special experience with a live piano and voice concert followed by a farewell dinner showcasing Roman specialties (evening concert and dinner experience).

Day Nine – Departure

After breakfast, participants check out and depart independently, concluding the tour.

Terms and Cancellation policies

Art. 1 – Terms and Regulations:

  • Group capacity:  min 14 pax – max 28 people per group
  • If the group tour does not reach the minimum capacity of participants by 3 months (90 days) prior the start of the tour, it will be cancelled.
  • In case of the cancellation by the great italy tour, the great italy tour will return the amount paid by the customer via nexi payment platform.

 

Art. 2 – Cancellation policy on behalf of the client:

  • Once customers pay the amount of a day tour, in the case of the eventual withdrawal on behalf of the client for any reason before departure, the client will be charged the following percentage of the participating shares, calculated taking into consideration how many days before departure he/she has requested the cancellation. From the day following the booking until:

 
– 30 days pre-departure: 40% penalty : in this case Great Italy Tour will refund the 60% of the full amount paid.

– 29-0 days pre-departure 100% penalty.

  • By confirming the reservation and making the payment, you accept the regulation and the itinerary as previously described.

 

Art. 3 – Tour variations

  • The service providers (hotels, agritourisms, restaurants, chefs, etc.) At times mentioned in our tour itineraries are subject to change. In this unlikely event they will only be substituted by others of equal or better quality in order to avoid affecting the content of our services.
  • The itineraries are subject to changes. Suggested activities may have to be substituted as a result of natural disasters, sudden atmospheric changes, temporary closures, striking or any other problems for which the tour organizers may not be held accountable. Any alterations made will be done so in order to improve the service on offer and will always be of equal commercial value.
