Day One – Arrival in Rome and Welcome Dinner

Participants arrive independently in Rome, with recommended arrival at Rome Fiumicino Airport. Arrival transfers are not included. Check-in at the 4**** Hotel takes place in the afternoon, with luggage storage available for early arrivals.

In the early evening, participants meet the Tour Leader and the rest of the group in the hotel lobby for a welcome aperitif, offering an introduction to the itinerary ahead (meeting at 6:30 PM). Dinner follows at a nearby restaurant, featuring traditional Roman cuisine and local flavors (dinner at 8:00 PM).

Day Two – Transfer from Rome to Puglia with Stop in Naples

After breakfast, participants check out and depart Rome by private bus, beginning the journey toward Puglia (departure at 8:30 AM). A stop in Naples allows time for lunch featuring traditional Neapolitan pizza and local specialties (lunch stop at 12:00 PM).

The visit continues with a guided walking tour of Naples’ historic center, exploring Spaccanapoli, historic churches, and noble palaces while learning about the city’s traditions and legends (2-hour guided walking tour starting at 2:00 PM).

In the afternoon, the journey continues toward Puglia. Upon arrival, participants check in at the 4**** Hotel and enjoy time at leisure. Dinner is served at the hotel restaurant in the evening (dinner at 7:30 PM).

Day Three – Pasta Cooking Class and Bari Vecchia

After breakfast, participants depart by private bus for a traditional Masseria to take part in a hands-on pasta cooking class. The experience includes a visit to the property, preparation of typical Apulian pasta, and lunch featuring the dishes prepared (morning experience, approximately 10-minute drive).

In the afternoon, the group travels to Bari for a guided walking tour of Bari Vecchia, exploring the Basilica of San Nicola, the Cathedral, and the narrow streets of the historic old town, where local traditions are still part of daily life (3-hour guided walking tour).

The group returns to the hotel in the late afternoon (return at 5:00 PM). Evening and dinner are at leisure.

Day Four – Polignano a Mare and Monopoli

After breakfast, participants depart from the resort and reach Polignano a Mare. A guided walking tour explores the historic center, including Cala Porto (Lama Monachile) and the statue of Domenico Modugno, set dramatically above the Adriatic Sea (2-hour guided walking tour starting at 9:00 AM).

Midday is dedicated to lunch at a local restaurant before continuing to Monopoli in the afternoon (approximately 15-minute drive). Here, a guided walking tour introduces the fishing port, historic center, castle, and white-stone architecture typical of Puglia (2-hour guided walking tour starting at 2:00 PM).

Participants return to the hotel in the late afternoon (return at 5:00 PM). The evening is at leisure.

Day Five – Alberobello, Masseria Experience, and Ostuni

After breakfast, the group departs for Alberobello (approximately 40-minute drive). A guided walking tour explores the UNESCO-listed trulli district, introducing the history and construction techniques of these iconic cone-roofed houses (2-hour guided walking tour).

At lunchtime, participants enjoy a food and wine experience at a local Masseria, featuring regional products and wines (lunch experience around 1:00 PM).

In the afternoon, the tour continues to Ostuni (approximately 1-hour drive). A guided walking tour explores the White City, including its cathedral, panoramic streets, and viewpoints overlooking the Itria Valley (2-hour guided walking tour starting at 4:00 PM).

The evening is at leisure in Ostuni before returning to the hotel by bus (return at 10:00 PM).

Day Six – Olive Grove Visit and Countryside Experience

After breakfast, participants depart for a traditional olive farm in the countryside (departure at 10:00 AM, approximately 30-minute drive). The visit includes a guided walk through the olive groves, an introduction to olive oil production techniques, and an olive oil tasting. Lunch is served at the farm, followed by a visit to the olive mill to complete the experience.

In the afternoon, the group returns to the hotel (return around 3:00 PM). The remainder of the day is free, with evening and dinner at leisure.

Day Seven – Matera and Murgia Belvedere

After breakfast, participants depart for Matera (departure at 9:00 AM, approximately 1-hour drive). A guided walking tour explores the Sassi districts, historic streets, and rock-hewn architecture that make Matera one of Italy’s most distinctive destinations (guided city tour).

Lunch takes place at a local restaurant around midday, followed by a visit to the Murgia area. A short walking promenade leads to the panoramic Belvedere, offering views across the canyon toward the Sassi (approximately 15–20-minute walk).

The return to the hotel takes place in the late afternoon (return around 5:00 PM). Dinner is served at the hotel in the evening (dinner at 7:30 PM).

Day Eight – Caserta and Return to Rome

After breakfast and check-out, participants depart Puglia by private bus for the return journey to Rome. Along the way, a stop is scheduled at the Reggia di Caserta. A guided visit explores the Royal Apartments, Grand Staircase, and the vast Royal Gardens with fountains and water features (guided visit).

Lunch takes place at leisure during the journey. In the late afternoon, arrival in Rome and check-in at the hotel mark the second overnight stay in the city. Evening and dinner are at leisure.

Day Nine – Departure

After breakfast, participants check out from the hotel and depart independently, marking the conclusion of the tour.

Terms and Cancellation policies

Art. 1 – Terms and Regulations:

  • Group capacity:  min 14 pax – max 28 people per group
  • If the group tour does not reach the minimum capacity of participants by 3 months (90 days) prior the start of the tour, it will be cancelled.
  • In case of the cancellation by the great italy tour, the great italy tour will return the amount paid by the customer via nexi payment platform.

 

Art. 2 – Cancellation policy on behalf of the client:

  • Once customers pay the amount of a day tour, in the case of the eventual withdrawal on behalf of the client for any reason before departure, the client will be charged the following percentage of the participating shares, calculated taking into consideration how many days before departure he/she has requested the cancellation. From the day following the booking until:

 
– 60 days pre-departure: 40% penalty : in this case Great Italy Tour will refund the 60% of the full amount paid.

– 59-30 days pre-departure: 60% penalty : in this case Great Italy Tour will refund the 40% of the full amount paid.

– 29-0 days pre-departure 100% penalty.

  • By confirming the reservation and making the payment, you accept the regulation and the itinerary as previously described.

 

Art. 3 – Tour variations

  • The service providers (hotels, agritourisms, restaurants, chefs, etc.) At times mentioned in our tour itineraries are subject to change. In this unlikely event they will only be substituted by others of equal or better quality in order to avoid affecting the content of our services.
  • The itineraries are subject to changes. Suggested activities may have to be substituted as a result of natural disasters, sudden atmospheric changes, temporary closures, striking or any other problems for which the tour organizers may not be held accountable. Any alterations made will be done so in order to improve the service on offer and will always be of equal commercial value.
